Like Tears in Rain
I just realized that I have been typing into the air. Let me explain.
I came here and began to write a beautiful blog post about the history of Nasty horror (which spans over ten years!) and then speaking about it’s rebirth and complete change of direction.
It was a great blog post.
Now you must understand how I type. When I type I type VERY rapidly and I seldom look up at the screen, for minutes on end. It is not uncommon for me to have typed 500 words before I even glance at the screen.
This way of working carries with it advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages is speed. It also helps me focus and have a nice smooth flow of thoughts.
The downside s that sometimes I look up after my masterful crafting of outstanding prose, and see that nothing that I typed exists.
I literally have been pushing keys without the information being saved anywhere.
This is what happened with the lovely blog post that I had written right before typing this one. It’s all gone folks. All of it. I can’t even remember what I typed well enough to even think of retyping it. Cest la Vie.
I can’t even remember what I was originally going to blog about, so I am changing this post into a public service announcement.
Pay attention!
If you work with a word processor, make sure your cursor is at the right place before you launch into your inspired tirade, lest it be lost into time, like a sand castle at high tide.
I used to use a typewriter. I never had this happen with a typewriter.
Sigh.
PS-Watch for the new short fiction series starting soon. It will be announced here. It will be available through Kindle. Check back to see. Or, if you don’t feel like having to check back, get on the mailing list. There should be a banner for it in the side bar.
G’nite kiddies!
