Ok You Got Me
On the heals of a recent very enthusiastic post on this very blog and by me, comes another one.
It’s like a fucking miracle.
I have seen one or two of the Chucky movies. They are actually called the “Child’s Play” movies.
I have always liked Brad Dourif (And I really like his daughter) (No, seriously, it’s not a joke. If you haven’t seen “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency”, you can’t understand how freakin amazing she is. But I digress…)
Brad has been the voice of Chucky in all those gradually less interesting films.
I have not been watching them and I haven’t cared whether or not another one was coming out or came out, at all. Just not interesting.
But now, a miracle has occurred. And this is not a complaint about Brad Dourif. I like him, just haven’t been enthralled by the “Chucky” movies. Not his fault.
You may be wondering why I keep defending Brad. Because I don’t want what follows to be thought of as an attack on him, at all. OK?
Like the recent reincarnation of Hellboy with a different actor and director, sometimes a stale franchise can benefit greatly with an infusion of fresh blood.
Sometimes it’s the death knell, but sometimes it’s great.
The new Hellboy looks really good to me. And that brings me to the point of this blog post.
The new voice of Chucky is …
MARK FUCKING HAMILL!
Even all caps cannot properly express my glee.
Additionally the director of the newest and quite successful version of Stephen King’s “It”, Andrés Muschietti, is doing this one.
Holy shit! What a combo. I can’t say for sure that it’ll be awesome. But … come on! Right!?
Watch the trailer, watch the trailer…
That’s all for today, kiddies.
PS-I’ll do a post about Dirk Gently soon. Not actually horror, but too awesome to let slide.
PPS-If you want to get the original version you could do that below:
