Like a fuzzy Diogenes, the dark one waits patiently for the first sign of films not sucking anymore. Something at the edge of the yard has caught his attention.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I recently saw the trailer for the new incarnation of Ghostbusters<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This film appears to ignore the 2016 fuck up, and is simply a sequel to the original films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The full title is Ghostbusters: Afterlife. It seems to have a “Stranger Things” feel to it. But that’s cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teaser trailer actually gave me goosebumps (I could make an R. L. Stine joke here, but I am above that sort of thing.) But seriously, I actually want to see this movie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the first movie in over ten years that actually has me planning to leave the house for a while. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also want to see the Joker, Which I was expecting to suck (See previous post<\/a>), but it turned out that it was many layers of awesome. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s cool. It’s nice to know that somewhere under all the bullshit politics and chest-beating agenda, there are still real humans that actually want to, and try to make good films, with good stories and good characters. (Yay art!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I predict that movies that don’t suck will be the wave of the future. (At least, until, another popular strain of asshole-ism grips the country) Let’s hope that isn’t for a long while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the mean time, I am allowing myself to catch the first lip of this wave. I hope it’s a big one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
